Express Laundry Limited is an independent laundry business owned and managed by Nicholas Leigh with a team of hard working, skilled and dedicated staff. We are a full service laundry providing domestic and commercial laundry and ironing services to customers across Dorset and West Hampshire.
Express Laundry can trace its origins back to the 1960s when the Washerette, in Winton was converted from a former dairy and fitted out as a branded self-service launderette. In the early 1970s the launderette changed hands and the new owners got rid of the uneconomical top loading washing machines and installed modern front-loading machines manufactured in England by Spencer. These were still in use right up until 2003 when, under the current owners, the latest computer controlled equipment by market leading brand Ipso, was installed.
The business, under Nick’s guidance since 1999, now operates as a full service laundry from large double high street premises in Winton, and a further launderette in Tuckton. Having undergone huge transformation over the last few years the laundry now has the capabilities to offer all the services more commonly found in larger organisations but still maintains the levels of service and attention to detail that can only be found in a smaller owner managed business.
All laundry and finishing work is carried out in house with dry cleaning being sub-contracted to a local specialist firm to achieve the best results for our customers.
The philosophy of the laundry is simple – to provide customers with the very best service at the right price and this is something that Nick and his team firmly believe in at every stage of their contact with customers. Express Laundry is often able to help out where others can’t; whether because a customer wants something at short notice or because a problem has arisen and Express Laundry’s flexibility and experience can provide a solution.
